FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY IN SHREWSBURY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here is all the information you might need when thinking about booking your family shoot. Hopefully I have it covered but if there’s anything else you’d like to know feel free to drop me an email on hello@florencefox.com!

Where do we have the shoot?

I usually recommend either at home, or out on a walk. Somewhere you normally go together as a family is great - such as park, lake or garden.

How long will the shoot last?

My shooting time is about an hour. I work around you and your family so if we run over a little bit because of an unexpected nap or melt down, that’s absolutely fine.

What should we plan to do?

The majority of the shoot will be documentary, focused around normal things you'd do together. Think about where you like to go, what interests the children have at this moment in time, or hobbies you have. Don’t feel like it needs to be jam packed, it’s absolutely fine to have a just potter about at home or in the park.

Do we get photos all together as well as documentary?

Although 80% of the time I am shooting documentary I always make sure to get some where you are all together in the frame. I do these interspersed throughout the shoot so it doesn’t feel too forced.

Do I need to tidy the house?

There is definitely no expectation on my part to turn up and photograph in a show home! Mess can be part of everyday life so please don’t worry about making everything ‘perfect’.

What if the kids are tired or misbehaving?

Again, don’t worry! Children have entirely their own moods and we can work with whatever is going on that day. Often parents can panic if their child isn’t on their best behaviour but silly faces, tongues out, moods, silliness, nose picking and messy mouths are all part of what childhood is about and therefore what I want to capture. Letting them be themselves and not feeling like they have to play up for the camera really helps them feel comfortable around me and easier for me to build that trust with them.

What do we wear?

The answer is simple – whatever makes you feel comfortable and is something you’d like to be photographed in! You can don your fanciest attire or just t-shirt and jeans.

How do we book?

Just drop me an email on hello@florencefox.com or through my contact page and I can send over more information and pricing. Once you’ve confirmed you pay the session fee, sign the contract and we arrange a date to meet together.

Do you sell vouchers?

I do indeed. They are printed on high quality recycled paper with an envelope - all ready to gift to your loved one. They can be made out to any amount you wish.

How do we access the photographs afterwards?

You will get an online gallery, then you get a week to choose your favourite images and which package you would like.
