Family Photography in Highbury & Islington

Wow, I am not sure where to start with this! What an incredible experience. I have known the Dowden family for a long time (since I was small myself!) and I had the pleasure of photographing Issy & Rich’s wedding nearly 9 years ago. To see them with their three children, and all the rest of their family was just wonderful.

What is a ‘Day in the Life’ photography shoot?

For a ‘Day in the Life’ shoot the idea is to capture the feeling of a whole day together - family outings, park trips, homework - all the normality and hilarity, tears and giggles, hugs and strops. It’s especially great as there’s plenty of time to photograph other members of the family too, for example we did this shoot at the grandparent’s house and also Issy’s sister came over with her new born baby too (plus a few friends, and a god mother!)

I also find with the extra time not only do you get a chance to capture more things and more people, but also the children warm up to you WAY more when they realise you’re not going to leave after an hour. Quite often kids can play up to the camera and once they have got this out of their system I find I can get some real gems as they start to trust me and my camera.

These are such a joy to be part of and can be an incredible thing to look back on in the years to come, when the children and all grown up!
